Check your mortgage
With the recent interest rate decreases homeowner's are sitting a bit happier than we were earlier this year. But have you checked that your bank has given you the correct interest rate drop on your mortgage?
Many homeowners today have their mortgages wrapped up in an all-in-one package where you also get free transactions on your savings account and no annual credit card fee. These savings alone can be good and on top of that they often include a discount off the standard variable mortgage interest rate.
Sounds great, but if you haven't double checked your mortgage interest rate lately then you might be paying too much! You see with all of these interest rate drops, some customers have been reporting that their additional discounts aren't being applied to reduce the new rate.
So if you have a package like those above, make a phone call to either your mortgage broker or your bank and make sure you are still receiving your discounted interest rate.
It will be worth the local call charge if your bank has made an error.
